Hardwood Construction Works Just Like an All-Wood Shutter
Polyclad shutters look and work just like traditional wood shutters. The hardwood core delivers the strength to build large "door like" panels that can be both wide and tall. Only a solid wood shutter can build panels this strong.

Polyclad is Maintenance Free
Polyclad by ShutterSMART is built with a rigid Poly vinyl surface that is clad over the hardwood. This surface will not scratch, dent, fade, peel or discolor. It's easy to clean, durable and low maintenance. The surface is completely paint free and will never need to be replaced.

Hand Picked Hard Woods, Not MDF
Every shutter is made with hand-picked poplar and European Baltic birch woods. We do not use MDF (fiber board glued with formaldehyde), otherwise referred to as Composite materials, to build our panels. The result is remarkable strength and durability in every panel and a safe environment for you and your family.

Triple Dowel Furniture Quality Joinery
The rails and stiles are joined using three two-inch hardwood dowels. This triple dowel joinery is only found in high-quality furniture, and ensures that panels never come apart. Our quality stands out again and again.

All Moving Parts are Replaceable in Your Home
All moving parts, such as louvers and tilt rods, are easily replaceable while the shutters are still in your window. Should the need ever arise, you won't have to send your shutters back to the factory for louver or rod repairs.

TwistLock™ Tilt Rod Design Never Pulls Apart
Instead of the staples used in most shutters, ShutterSMART uses a patented tilt rod hook design that twists and locks into each louver. These TwistLock™ hooks will never pull out of the louvers.

Solid Louvers are an Option
Solid louvers are also an option and are made of the same poly materials throughout the louver body, delivering low maintenance when compared to wood shutters. Our solid poly louvers are attached to the tilt rod using staples, similar to a wood shutter.
